description
This is a beautiful and unique obi design sheet. It is from Nishijin in Kyoto and originated as a design sheet for obi makers. Artisans would paint these designs on card or silk and show them to the obi makers. The most popular and beautiful ones would fetch high prices. They vary considerably in size and design, but all are from the early to mid 20th century. Many are signed by the artist and would look wonderful framed or mounted on a wall or furniture. This is a great opportunity to own a one-off important and historic artwork. This particular piece is on card with some type of coating.
