This is a bolt of shibori dyed silk. It has not been steamed or ironed and so is quite dense. It is ideal for scarves and does not need hemming if cut with a sharp blade or scissors.Most people use 1.5 metres for a scarf. If stretched, this fabric would be much longer and wider. The given measurements are for unstretched fabric.
