This is an old photo album that measures 9 x 11 inches. It contains 26 pages full of antique Japanese cotton samples, some of which are woven and the others are fine examples of katazome or shibori dying. Ther are 80 fabric samples in this book and all are exquisite. Some are showing their age, but all are sound and in great vintage condition.. The samples appear to be glued to the pages. I estimate the age of the sample fabrics to be 1870's - 1900. These fabric samples would be a wonderful study for any serious Japanese textile enthusiast. It comes as seen in image 3 - wrapped in a ribbon with a vintage red Japanese kanzashi comb.
